Like (just about) everyone - I hated the FLTR when I first saw it - but it definitely DOES grow on ya.
I sold my Fat Boy in April - and now I'm the proud owner of an 08 Road Glide.
It's the red-headed stepchild of HD - but I tell ya - nothing this big handles like this. Period.
I'm 6'5", 230, with a 36" inseam. No modifications to floorboards or the seat - and I freaking love it.
Ride them both - Hell - ride them all. Only you can make the call.

I've ridden all of the touring models and they're all terrific. However, for me the RG is the best handling, especially in the wind. I actually like the looks of the shark nose fairing better than the batwing, maybe because it really stands out in a crowd.

2008 pewter pearl R/G is the first Harley I have ever sat on, so I can't
compare to any other models.
I really liked the style of the shark-nosed faring, and decided that
would be my next bike.
I placed my order the end of Feb and the bike arrived mid May....
I'm 6'3"....245 lbs....36" inseam........comfy as hell....the wind doesn't
really bother me as I put 92k miles on a Valk with a custom 8"
windshield and no faring.
Don't believe you can go wrong with either choice.......

Once you ride it........you'll be buying it!
I have had 4 different Harley's....a Softail for 8 years.......a Dyna......a Road King.......and now my Roadglide. It's hands down the best bike I have owned and I would not own anything else now.
