I was wondering how you guys like the Road Glide models, I am looking at one that caught my eye, I was never crazy about the fairing design but after looking at it more it does not seem bad.
How do the Bikes Ride and Handle? I also like the Electra Glide Classic.
Rent or demo both.... then YOU decide..... it's like having a favorite color...everyone has their opinion.
MY opinion, is demonstrated by my avatar.....yours will vary. But... in a world of cookie-cutter motorcycles.... you can spot a ROAD GLIDE a mile a way.... and we DO like to say... the FLTR is H-D's best kept secret.... I'd tell you more... but it IS a secret
I rode several models and it was my choice but I loved the Street Glide too, my brothers RK is great also. Its your choice, they are great bikes but the shark nose just seemed right for me.
Everyone is right - you have to test it out. Take them on the highway and then on regular surface streets. Try the stereo, etc...
I was in that boat and I really like the looks of the RoadGlide, but I have a soft spot for the batwing. It's really nice IMO and I get a false sense of security with the fairing so close to me. It's a tradeoff though - the Roadglide has little goodie pockets and a "roomy" feel to it.
I had 2 a 98' and my current 02' can't beat them for there resistence to buffering on the highway. It's called harleys ugly duckling but it kind of grows on ya. I think people are getting the hint When I first bought mine you would see maybe 2-3 at a ralley now there are more and more every year.
It's easily Harley's best "value" (comparing feature for feature versus MSRP) among Touring biikes. Consider it a Street Glide w/o the rear fender facia/LED, that you can add for under 200 bucks in parts--many HDF'ers have done this to their RG's.
