i have read many comments on the HID headlight setup. i am going to get one for sure.
has anyone got the HID low/ halogen high beam set up? do you really use the high beam anymore because of the lack of light the halogen gives out? just looking for input on this. i found a great deal on a good light. sshhh dont tell anybody they go for $99 i found a dealer that will sell me for $75. i was going to get a bi-xenon the hid high and lowfor $100. if the hid low puts out enough light for both the high and low. that would make the halogen high never used.
thanx dave out
I put the HID lights on my bike and got the Halogen hi beam. It is not needed, the light from the HID is amazing. Did an Iron Butt 1000 and was coming home through western Oklahoma (10 PM)and I was asked to ride in the front of the group to light the way.
I can Honestly say I am very dissapointed with the HD HID kit.
In the catalog it showed that it was a beam that shot out forward. However in reality is shoots a candybar shape of light more wide than long.
I do like the light a lot, just didn't do my research to see what the actual shape of the beam was. I tried aiming it higher and still find myself using the Highbeam at night on the freeways.
Keep hearing not to bother with the HD HID setup....but to go with the Fashtek system.....I'm getting this set-up for my Road Glide in a few months. http://www.fashtek.comand when My Ultra comes in will be doing it to that also. Hear it's a pretty painless install and a lot better light and components.
