Default SG Rear Running Lights Fix

Bought the rear running light kit for my wife's Deluxe. Prior to install, noticing that her rear turn signals were the same as on my SG,I was curious if the kit would work on my bike. Pulled the seat plugged it in and "Bingo!" The turn signals are now running and brake lights and the system works as advertised! Although the kit comes with red lenses, I opted to keep the amber lenses because of the contrasting lights. I know, in some states the "law" requires red lenses, but I would rather have the high vis.

The HD part is carried in the multi-fit section and I paid around $45 bucks for it, part # 69462-06A, Run, Brake, Turn Signal Module Kit

Can you summarize please exactly what this does in terms of lighting?
HD site lists 4 versions, which one is suitable for SG?

VRSC™:Auxiliary Running Light / Brake Light / Turn Signal Conversion Kit - Bullet Lens Style
SportsterÂŽ:Auxiliary Running Light / Brake Light / Turn Signal Conversion Kit - Bullet Lens Style
SoftailÂŽ:Auxiliary Running Light / Brake Light / Turn Signal Conversion Kit - Bullet Lens Style
Dyna/FXR:Auxiliary Running Light / Brake Light / Turn Signal Conversion Kit - Bullet Lens Style

The one listed for the Softail works on the SG--I've had it on my bike for over a year--HD used to offer it for Baggers (RK Custom/Road Glides) but apparently there is a DOT reg that prohibits it sale by HD for baggers with bullet turn signals--so you find what you want for your SG in the Softail section of the Catalog--go figure.

It simply makes the rear turn signals function as running and brake lights in addition to maintaining the turn signal functions.

He's right on target-I bought it for my wife's Softail-Deluxe. I converts/turns the rear turn signals into running lights. They stay on at all times and then increase in intensity (dual filament bulb) just like the brake light. The turn signals continue to operate as normal to include 4-way flashers.

I run this kit on my Street Glide and the wife`s Sportster. I feel it is money well spent. The kit gives you a little more visibility from the back when riding and braking.

are these really as easy as they claim they are to install? I also have seen a kit that allows you to tune the lower fender running light into a brake light also!!!

Anyone familiar with the instal? Could a guy with two left hands do it?

Thanks!
Ride safe!

This kit is truely plug & play! Take of the seat, the connector is readily located under the seat and pinned against the top of the fender, unplug, plug in the new connector, put seat on, done...that easy! The tribar light is a little more difficult...you'll have to gain access to the connector via the fender skirt, which will require wrenching. Overall not a big project, but if you have two left thumbs it might be difficult.

Pandol34, thanks for the info... I love the look of the signals being part of your brake lights! Although I did see a guy yesterday on my cruise that had the fender skirt light part of it too, and man that looked sharp. He removed his turn signals, not sure why, and had the skirt light and the regular brake light, and it was pretty bright even during the day...
Thanks again, I might just have to try that one myself... If I call out for help, I know you guys will all be there to reassure me that I can do it!

Thanks again, and ride safe, its 83 and sunny here today, in Northern Illinois.

I installed the Kurakyn Plate holder (went thru the tail light) and installed the tri bar light in 2 hours. Believe me I am no mechanic at all. Very easy just take your time.
