Got the CV GT large and just look about 2" over it. Riding at night in the rain will cure you from wanting to look through a shield. Nothing like 1000 headlights.
I have the taller shield and look through it. I love the protection and looking through it has not been a problem at night or in the rain. I keep it clean with Plexus. It is all what you like.
I love my 9 inch smoked windshield, but my stock windsheild cut down an inch to get rid of the distortion on the top edge, is the best for travaling. Less wind, less bugs,and the tunes sound better.

I have had it both ways.....the taller shield DID offer better wind and rain protection.........the downside however, is reduced visibility in rain, and in those situations where the shield would fog over.
I have a recurve now, that I see over the top off. It offers the same, if not better wind protection than the taller one.
