i just ordered a new set of avon venum wide white walls for my road king. what is everyone opinion of these?? better that the stock dunlops?? how do they handle and how do they last??
the Avon Venom doesnt last long..........I got about 5500 mile on a rear , but they are nice and sticky............inmo the dunlop touring last the longest(the dealer should stock them)
Everybody has their opinions on tires just as we do everything else.
I am running Venom X's and love them.
I've ran Metzeler's and like them also.
Don't think you can go wrong with either brand.
You may not get the mileage you would out of a Dunlop
but they sure ride and handle a hell of a lot better IMO.
Both brands are superior in the ride and handling category.
Since you asked.... I agree more with what ***** said. They do wear much quicker and they are very sticky. In fact, it took some getting used to after installing a set of Venom's. THe bike really handled "different".
I'm an Avon man all the way. They don't last as long as the Dunlops, but the ride, and handling is A+.
Hey,
those look like Dunlops on your ride
Why would you want longer lasting less sticky tires when you only get 2?
Its not like they are outrageously expensive. I'd rather have traction I'm not using on a daily basis available for an emergency, than have a tire that lasts me 15k miles.
well if they handle better that means a lot to me! i just wanna try something different from the dunlops.. i just never been crazy about the look of the dunlops.. they have lasted fine but i wanted change and if they dont last i will just get a new set i guess! thanks guys!
