I've been a cop for almost 30 years now and can say this with a degree of certainty. If your in a bar, leave the gun at home. Nothing good is EVER going to come of it. Even if it appears to be a justified shooting, if you got booze in you your fuc#ed. Kiss your house, your possessions, your pension, and possibly your freedom goodbye. Seen it happen a bunch of times. Not too far from me in NYC, about 3 weeks ago, a brother just got waisted by a fellow cop. He pulled his weapon out after getting jumped by a bunch of shi&birds in a Whhite Castle, turned towards the on duty cop with the gun, and got himself killed. Just my .02.
WHAT BILL SAID......Leave it at home or stay out of bars!.....it ain't worth it even if your justified, or not the cause...it will bite you!...or someones overpaid attorney will have all that you ever wanted!
Are you sure it's not legal for you to carry since you're an MP????????????????????
I'm a LEO and the federal LEO carry law passed a few years ago allows us to carry whenever and wherever.
I have to agree, I live in minnesota, and I also have a permit to carry, In minnesota It can be carried as long as its not posted that they dont allow guns, however you cannot consume any liquor while carrying. there is no way in he!! I would leave a gun with ammo in a bike, Nothing good can come out of booze and guns, trust me, Ive got a relative thats currently some guys B**** in the state pen for a similar deal. I do carry while riding, however if we are gonna be hitting any bars the weopon stays home, no questions asked. Millions upon millions of un-armed people visit bars every year without a problem, what are the odds that your gonna really need a gun anyway? If you think the odds are good then maybe you should find a new watering hole to hang out in. Im not trying to tell you not to carry,, I carry more than anyone I know, but I am telling you that I wouldnt carry in a bar, and the saddle bag of a harley is the last place I would leave a gun. I wouldnt be able to sleep at night if I came out to find either the bike and my gun or just my gun gone. Who's to say its not gonna end up in the hands of some local kid? By carrying a weopon it is your responsibility to keep control of your weapon at all times, and in my opinion leaving a gun in the saddle bag of your bike while your not present is far from responsible.

The officer in question was ther late Eric Hernandez. a rising star and great football player. may he rest in peace and the officer that fired the shot did everything right. unfortunatly the late officer probably if he survived wou;d have be put through hell do to his alcohol level

Why are you going into a bar, if you're riding a motorcycle? If you're on the road, find a bar within walking distance of your motel. If you're at home, drive your car, not your M/C.
Sorry, but I don't know why one would want to ride a M/C to a bar! Bad move, IMHO!
