i got a set of lowers yesterday for my 08 r.g..installed them and went for a ride,the instructions said to remove air deflector on forks, i didnt ...did anyone else leave it on or should it be removed ? of course it was 85 deg. and hotter than hell,no air coming under tank.i was running a 8" windsceen,so plenty still hitting me from the front..i think ill take it off today and see what difference it makes
If you are speaking of the air baffle.....I just took mine off and it makes a huge difference on air flow over the rear cylinder head and exhaust in these warmer temps. \\; You'll have more wind in the chest without it but IMO leave it off for now, it makes too much of an improvement in lowering heat with the lowers installed.
i sure am having a hard time getting this excess wind handeled....i ordered a +3 clearview...hoping that with lowers and no air baffel it will take care of it...i know it was to hot with lowers and baffel

 \\;I remove them in the summer and reinstall them for winter.
I leave the baffle on mine all the time myself, no problems so far! The lowers really helped on my \\;Roady with the wind, nice pocket of air now, \\;I have a large Clearview also, didn't have the lowers with the stock shield so I can't comment on that but I'm pretty sure it would have helped it to! \\; \\;
