It is just another bike. Ride your ride and enjoy it. He will be wishing he was on the Harley the whole time. Trust me, I have been there.

My riding buddy has the VTX 1800 and my brother has the VTX 1300. Both nice bikes but the gas mileage is less the Harley as someone has stated. The VTX 1800 gets about 100 - 120 miles and my buddy is in need for a stop quick. The VTX 1300 can go at least 170 miles before a stop. My 2008 Road Glide has done over 260 miles before a stop. As far as speed, it all depends. I'm the Road captain and keep the group between 60 - 80 MPH - no speed demons in the group.

That VTX will smoke your ultra. But you have your bags and your radio and much more comfort. As far as speed you might as well be on a mini bike. But im willing to bet you can ride much father then he can. Also DON'T haul his stuff in your bags for him.
A friend from work just bought a brand new leftover 2005 VTX 1800 and paid $7500.00. Try finding an 05 HD for that price. Better yet, try finding a 05 leftover HD
He will run off and leave you. I used to have an 1800.you will pass him after about a hundred miles. He will be in a shade rubbing his *** trying to get the circulation going again. Most unconfortable bike I have ever ridden.
See, I beg to differ. I rode with a guy from work once and he was on the VTX 1800 and I was on my EG Standard. I would say we were pretty evenly matched. Even our other buddy on his Goldwing said so. Maybe he just didn't know how to ride.
After all he was a frenchmen on a Honda. lol
He now has a EG Classic and love's it. still trying to sell his VTX though.
\\;Also DON'T haul his stuff in your bags for him.

Thats right...I get the comments when we are out cruisen but somehow I get gravitation my way when we stop at the restaurant...It pisses me off
