Default Crossover Quick-Disconnect for Fueltank??

Anyone got a S/S quick-disconnect for the fueltank?? Seems like it would make it a lot easier to remove the tank without draining. I took my tank off today and could have used one. They have some listed in Drag Catalog but I don't see one for the newer model touring bikes. Anyone have a part number for one that works on the Street Glides/E-Glides?????????

Looked into a tank for my SG, as far I can tell '97 and up FLH's all use the same tank. I got a '00 tank off ebay every thing looks the same. RK is different as far as no speedo and gas bug and gauge are tank mounted. Dimentions of tank should be the same though. Hope this helps you.

Is that for a quick disconnect crossover line? It doesn't say anything about quick connect...jus that its a braided crossover line. If thats the case, then you still have the hassle of draining the tank when you want to pull the tank.

As usual, I went my own way. I bought some magnabraid hose sleeving (available through Summit Racing), a Colder (brand name) chrome plated brass quick disconnect from http://www.ferracci.com/ ($50.00) and made my own. I learned something since doing this job, about working with the stainless steel hose sleeves. before you make your cut, wrap the end with a strip of tape to keep the hose end from fraying by the hose clamps before you get the clamps tightened down...the finished look is much cleaner and nicer.

SH,

That is a good idea. Plan on doing this pretty soon. Good find on the fuel line fittings too...

Good idea, but ugly clamps don't do it for me. I am sure if you look around you could find some better looking clamps. I guess I would rather drain tank considering it don't have to come off that often than have all that hardware up front.[]

This is not a quick-disconnect cable. Just a braided version of the original.

P.S. I did find one in the Custom Chrome catalog. Made by E-Z flow that works for touring bikes. It's a bit pricey at $90........

I agree on the clamps. There were some really nice looking ones in the Summit Racing catalog that I may get in the future; but at $4.50 a piece, I figured it could wait.

I emailed the Colder company and they put me in touch with a distributor in Indianapolis that sold me the quick disconnect fittings for $10 apiece. I just put them in the stock lines. The one I put on the wife's deluxe really doesn't fit real well as the line is too short but the RK one should be fine.
