Generally parts are covered under warranty, but labor is not......They should've brought you right in and warranteed your latch and charged you at least a half hour labor of $40 or so to put it on \\;\\\\\\; Guess they lost money on that one.
 \\;
Wow, if your dealer charges you labor every time you bring your motorcycle back for a warranty repair you need to find a new dealer cuz you're getting screwed. What you are referring to is a limited warranty that you get with most electronic equipment but the 2 year warranty you get with a Harley Davidson motorcycle id a full warranty with the dealer getting reimbursement for each claim submitted. \\;
The fact is any part that is covered by the 2 year warranty is \\;covering both the parts and labor. You do not have to pay for the labor portion if \\;the repair is covered under the warranty.
another junk hd \\; part.. \\; \\; broke many... \\; changed \\; many...over the \\; years..
hd \\; knows \\; this is a \\; faulty part ! \\; do they make it \\; better..nope..
 \\;
Your correct that the sservice writer should ahve been able to figure out the correct end of a multi driver to use along with the correct torq bit to use for this simple two minute job.
 \\;
I assume this is one of those Presto latches. \\;I have four broken ones on my bike now. I got tired of replacing them after a while. \\; They still close, it's just the spring that usually breaks. Has anyone found a cheap source for these? \\;Like a luggage place or something? I think they go for about $15-ish each regularly.
