Default stopping the blues?

i just read in "Full Throttle" that a way to stop pipes from turning blue is to, first spray the inside with a good hi-temp paint, wait for it to dry, then coat it with axle grease...the idea of the grease is, it crystalizes and makes a "ceramic" coating...

anyone ever hear of this?...does it work?

The grease will melt and drip. You must have VH pipes!

Pipes or mufflers? How would you spray the inside of an inch &amp\\; a half pipe?&nbsp\\; I have Rush mufflers and if you took out the baffles and sprayed the tubes you would never get the baffles back in. Also, if you get grease or paint on the packing it's done. It would be&nbsp\\;easier just to get a blue bike a you can't tell if the pipes are turning blue or it's just a reflection
&nbsp\\;
Good luck,
&nbsp\\;
Jim

Don't know about the grease part but I have&nbsp\\;sprayed the inside of&nbsp\\;a set of Vance &amp\\; Hines long shots on a bike I had a while back with the high temp chrome spray paint and it really does help to coat the inside of the pipes. Vance &amp\\; Hines pipes normally have the full length heat shields so you don't see much blueing anyway
