Default biketronics retro-radio kit

I already put this into the chat but I need some help. Is ANYBODY using a biketronics retro-radio kit without handlebar controls (maybe aftermarket fairing)? I have power, ground, battery, speed signal, and speakers hooked up. I started the bike up in the garage and it doesn't sound like the volume is changing (fairing is out being painted). The directions say that the default is 2 (1 showing biggest volume change), but since I have no hand controls I don't even know if the AVC option is turned on. It's Sat. so biketronics won't be open until Monday. Anybody do what I am trying to do? I hate to think I blew a bunch of money on something I can't use. Any help would be appreciated.

The headunit you are using should have an owner's manual explaining how to set/adjust AVC, but perhaps I'm mistaken.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;I have the Biketronics interface unit AND hand controls so I can't really help you.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Hope you get it sorted out.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
&nbsp\\;
Edit:&nbsp\\; Looked at Biketronics' website and it claims that AVC is exclusive to Biketronics.&nbsp\\; And a guy just posted that his Hawg-wired equivalent product doesn't have AVC, though he bought it off Ebay and may not be HW's latest and greatest version.

I am pretty sure AVC works off the speed sensor. You will have to go for a ride to test. Reving the engine in the garage won't do it.

Okay, I will admit to being an idiot on that one. I did not even think "speed sensor vs. RPM". You are absolutely right. My fairing is back from the painter on Fri. (I hope) so this weekend will be the test. Thanks, I was going to call Biketronics this morning but you saved me. Thanks, common sense always wins.

If it still doesn't work...disconnect the battery for a few seconds.. then it will go to default.. ( that's what they told me when mine didn't work...)
