I was stopped at a light in Conway on Saturday and noticed that my windshield was vibrating. When I checked it out I discovered that both of the clips had become unhooked and the windshield was about to fall off.

Never heard of this before but I can easily believe it because just a quick push from the back side and mine comes right off. \\; Might try that zip tie idea with some chrome zip ties. \\; Probably pretty easy to do and make unnoticeable. \\; Glad you're ok though. \\; CCRyder

Someone asked what the curled wires do and I would like to hear that because mine just hang there with no apparent use except to maybe lift the windshield off.

Like already said, the clips do nothing but give you a finger grab (useless really)
I do not use them as finger grabs, but I do find great utility in them as engine-running indicators. I can tell whenever my engine is running because they vibrate and ring like little bells.
The windshield wasn't seated properly or the grommets need replacing. \\; I had an 06 RKC that I put many miles on and was always impressed with the stability of the windshield, given how ez it was to put on and remove. \\; Don't agree that it was crap, I felt like it was a good design, it worked well and looked good. \\; I was in plenty of strong winds and never had an issue, just gotta make sure you have it mounted right. \\; sorry about your windshield, that sux.
Those clips do hold my shield on. Maybe I am not supposed to do it but I push them down past the grommet and I can push on my shield from the rear and it is tightly in place.

My Clearview was nothing but the glass. Used all the Harley parts and pieces.
