I've been to the dealer a few times and can never seem to catch a bike there with these slip-ons. Does anyone one have first had knowledge of which one of these slip-on's is louder.
Don't know about the SE's but the Ovals are probably mid-range as far as loudness. Very nice sound though and probably as loud as you would want to go if you use the stereo on your ride.
Hey 06, I have the SE's on my SG. Everyone says its pretty loud. But I would still like it louder. Been thinking of removing or cutting baffles a little.
I've got the SE II pro slip-ons and everyone says when I get on it they can hear my bike over everyone else in the group. And I'm not riding with just baggers. Guys with shorty pipes etc. Sounds great but on long runs after a day or two it can get to your ears a little. Some guys say they have them and can still listen to the stereo at highway speeds, I can't at 60 -65 mph. Down around 2000 to 2500 they just purr, crack the throttle and they get loud!
I have the SE Pros on my 06 U/C...they are definitely louder than the stock but not to the point that my ears hurt. I can still hear my radio at 55 - 65 with out a problem. I can tell you that it does have a nice purrrrrr at about 60/65......
The Ovals rock !! They have a real nice deep rumble when cruising and a solid bark when you get on it. Quality of construction and finish is sweet as well. If you go to the V&H website they actually have a sound file you can listen to of them, doesnt really do them justice but you get an idea, hope this helps.
I have the 64903-99 Pro Performance slip ons out of the Screamin Eagle Pro Racing Parts Catalog and they sound great as far as I'm concerned. They are loud when you crank it on and sound great when cruising but you can keep the noise down to an acceptable level when in neighborhoods. Also there is a rumor that these will no longer be sold after May 06.
