The 00 FLHR that I bought is just about ready to hit the road. I paid 6k for this bike w/ 30k miles on it. It got hit in the rear end and when I bought it I thought it had a salvage title but turns out it was clear. Has a SE intake and Samson pipes so it must be 1st staged, runs great. \\;\\\\\\; Got some great deals on parts and it's coming along. Should have some new white walls on it next week! \\;\\\\\\;
I'm turning it into a classic and added replacement fenders w/ classic tips. I have a new tank in primer that I'm thinking of painting and adding the RKC emblems to, or if I find a decent RKC tank I may skip the paint job, nothing wrong with the tank just want the classic emblems. Got some classic bags for it and will be putting on the nostalgic bag guards. Has lots of extras on the bike already and it just seemed like a decent bike to bring back to life. \\;\\\\\\; It's been a fun project and I'm thinking I will keep this baby.
Oh, and please post the "after" pictures when she's complete. \\; I've got an '00, so I'm especially interested. \\; May have some parts for you. \\; PM me with what you might need. \\; Good Luck
so how much do you figure you will be in to it after it is done? sounds like it was a good deal to begin with.
I'll probably have a little over 8k in it when its done. I bought most of the parts off Ebay, some were '08 take off parts. All I need right now is tires and alignment and it's on the road, probably in a week. \\; I'll post some pics when it's done.
Got the Road King on the road today! \\; Nice first ride on a sunny 4th of July through the High Desert pines. This bike runs awesome and I dialed in the alignment perfect, goes down the road straight as an arrow.
Need to gets some nostalgia saddlebag guards, change the fender skirt and passenger foot board covers to classic style. But it's looking pretty good right now don't ya think? \\; This bike had a Mustang solo and passenger seat on it that was damaged, Mustang is recovering it for me right now so I will soon get that on, don't like this stock seat I picked up.
