While driving in my cage this afternoon a Road King pulled up along side of me and the low deep rumble was fantastic. \\; WOT was also very nice, and was not at all loud cruising at 60mph. \\; I noticed he was running Screamin Eagle slip ons with the fish tail end caps. \\; I really liked the sound of it. \\; Right now I have V&\\;H Oval slip ons and at times I feel they are just too loud. \\; Are the more recent offerings of the Screamin Eagle slip ons and Supertrapp SE slip ons really the same? \\; I know there was a Screamin Eagle version several years ago that a lot of people have, but I think those might be the louder version.
Anyway - I'm really looking for input on whether or not the current offerings of the Screamin Eagle slip ons are essentially the same as the Supertrapp SE's sound/performance wise. \\; I'm running the stock headers with a stage 1 Big Sucker and V&\\;H Fuel Pak.
Mine are just right... They have a sweet low rumble, and bark nice when rollin'. They are the new ones, and every one who hears the bike loves them. I just ordered the black and chrome gun barrel tips...
i just put on the 64985 07A on my streetglide yesterday. easy install, it has a nice deep rumble at idle, i could hear the radio at highway speeds. If you rev it up to 3500 to 4500 accellerating on the highway its good, i'm happy with them. Ive had bassani pro streets, v&\\;h straight shot slipons on my nighttrain, it gets annoying after \\; riding over 2.5 hours on the highway. the loud exhaust just beat me up more than the wind noise these days.  \\;

I don't have them but have always undertood that the Supertrapp SE's are the equivalent of the OLD Screamin Eagle slip-ons.
Yeah, that gets said a lot around here. Last I remember (and I do not feel like wasting my dialup time checking just now) the current Supertrapp SEs are the same as the current Screaming Eagle mufflers. At least I am pretty sure last time I looked at their site that they gave the same SPL rating as the current H-D branded item, which is decidedly quieter than the older SE mufflers.
Assuming you are talking about a latest-generation Delphi control system:
The engine control unit should either be made aware of precisely what it is now working with via a dealer download (so long as it is for exactly the combination of all the new components on exactly the ECU for exactly the engine), a SERT, or by disabling (and resetting) the ECU adaptive fuel routines and modifying the injector/coil timings with a piggyback unit.
how do the SE 80491-07 Screamin' EagleÂŽ Street Performance Slip-On Mufflers - One Piece - Slash Down
Compare in sound vs the stock SG 2008 mufflers... is it worth the sound upgrade ???
 \\;
will the above SE give more HP and TQ ?
Sorry for not being specific. \\; I have an 08 flhx. \\; Pipes don't sound as good as the stock pipes did on \\;my softail custom. \\; I want something that sounds deeper and from reading these posts, it think I would like the se slip-ons. \\; From what you said it sounds like the slips-on are not "plug n play". \\; I guess I may need to have a dealer install an make necessary adjustments. \\; I was hoping to avoid that as I like do installs myself. \\; Fuel injection changes \\;changes the game \\;I guess. \\; Something I have to get used to or learn more about. \\; Thanks for the reply.
