I've been running these tires on my RK for 2 yrs and wore out my rear tire at 9k miles and replaced it with the same tire since the front still had plenty of treads left....Makes me wonder if I did the right thing now...Glad to see some pictures so now I know what to watch for...
Have run nothing but metzlers on all my bikes after running the existing rubber out. \\; I have never had a problem with the metz's and other biker friends of mine have had good luck with them as well. \\; \\;I have run bridgestone, avon, dunlops even continental tires that have been on the bikes when I got them. \\; I always ended up with metz's. \\; I am getting ready to put the new alpha \\;sized tires on my ultra in the next week or two to replace the OEM dunlops I have now. 12k miles. \\; Should be interesting!!!!
GREAT! I've got, oh, 200 miles on a new set of Metzs. Guess I'd better get over it though I might have to be extra careful with inflation. Speaking of, I didn't see 160/80/18 on the chart so would my inflation be 44-46 as well? And what about the front at 140/80/18?
Hopefully this will take care of the issue cuz I sure like the way these tires ride, sooooooooooooooooooo much better than stock Dunlops it's ridiculous.
I'm not sure about the 16's, but I run 50~52 in my 140x18 rear.
 \\;
The Metzlers need more air than others. Under inflation will cause excessive heat and accelerted breakdown.

Would inflation be the same for a 140/18 front tire?
Interesting I am on the 3rd set of ME880s never had a problem with them.I would take the tires back and see whats up, glad nothing happend while you were riding. Everybody should take notice of \\;the pictures I know a lot of people that do not check their tires or tire pressure.
I currently have 7k on my Metz 880's with \\;plenty left \\;and they are great. The ride, handling, tracking and grip are so superior to the OE Dunlops, the're not even in the same league. I consider the Dunlops to be like those 'four for a hundred dollars' tires you find advertised in your Sunday paper. They're round and they take you down the road, but that's it. The only adjustment is you need to run about 5lbs more air than the Dunlops. JMHO....
