Default Handlebar Adjustment

Can anyone throw me a "how to" get to the handlebar mounting bolts on my 08 SG.
I want to adjust them forward as much as I can. Looks easy enough except for the egnition switch or can you get to them from the fairing side?
Thanks in advance!

Remove the outter/front fairing.
Remove the Turn Signal mounts on the side of your forks (2 fasteners each side).
Remove the Chrome front piece below your fairing.
Remove the ignition switch, then the ignition switch fairing (2 fasteners each side).
Pull the inner fairing assembly forward a few inches to reveal your handlebars fasteners.
I just got through with this...
&nbsp\\;
Oh ya, make sure you cut the zip ties off your clutch cable inside the fairing.

you don't need to do all that if you only want to adjust your bars and not replace them.
Just remove the ignition switch and plastic switch cover&nbsp\\;then you can get to the 2 front bolts to loosen them so you can move the bars up.&nbsp\\; I used a 4 inch long hex socket to get to mine so I could adjust them but you can just use an allen wrench or T handle allen wrench.&nbsp\\;Very easy to do.

Cowboyglide is correct in his method for a simple adjustment. Repalcing the bars is a whole different thing. Read the manual and follow the instructions closely for the disassembly / reassembly of the ignition switch. Everything else IS a piece of cake !!!!!!

Removing the ignition switch is what scares most faint of heart mechanics.&nbsp\\; Actually, its pretty easy and not as full of flying springs and rolling washers as some think.&nbsp\\; Just take your time, and it all comes out in an easy to handle group.&nbsp\\; Just don't do this work over an open sewer grating and you will be just fine.

You might just want to try giving the bars a good hard push, alot of times their not that tight and you can move them, of course you don't want to do this a lot but once or twice shouldn't be a problem.
