Hey thanks for the photos, the hard bags really look cool. I will pursue a set of black cherry bags, if I \\;can't find them, I'll just paint a set. As for the question, "why not buy a standard Road King with hard bags?" I guess for me, the custom I found had 700 miles on it and the guy was motivated to sell and the bike is in perfect condition with nice mods. Also, I like the RK Custom wheels, it's lower, has the smoothed fender, chrome bug catcher, cool tank emblem. So for me, it was a tough decision but I prefer the look of the \\;RK Custom.

Okay, so this is an old post, but I'm going to ask this question anyway - what all is actually involved in installing Harley hard bags in place of the leather RK Custom bags? Are the under bag guards the same or do they need to be removed? How about the clip mounts for the leather bags? Does anyone have any detail on this swap?

Take off the leather ones. Put on the hard bags. Simple as that. Very easy.
