Try another headset or hand mike first. Check all the grounds too. Usually transmitted noise comes from a faulty microphone. Be sure the antenna is grounded properly to the metal plate in the tour trunk. If none of these work for you, have the shop send it back to Harmon Kardon for repair. Would be far cheaper that way.
Have the dealer do a kit breakdown of the CB kit shown in the catalog. \\; It may be that the CB module that sits on top of the HK headunit has a seperate part number and can be purchased seperately.

In my frequent dealings with the parts counters at three metro Atlanta HD stores, the parts guys are not very well-informed about these like this.
The 06s' had a problem with that. I know mine did. If i used my buddys' mike it would work great and mine would work on his but not the other way around. Took it to the stealer and they had a bulletin on the problem. They did something and it worked.
I have an 06 & the CB hasnt worked right since day one. Does anyone have a definative answer? I've seen a lot of speculation etc,,, but nobody has yet to say what the real problem & actual solution is. Can anyone help?
As stated the mic/antenna could be the problem. The antenna is used for Tx/Rx (duh!), the thing is, if the antenna is loose the RF being radiated to free space is reduced (VSWR).
The Tx carrier RF is modulated by your voice - starts with the mic.
Go find a truck stop that has a CB shop!!! They can check out the whole system and at least tell you where the problem is. Most of the time it's the mike or the antenna causing problems, and they are easy fixes. That $20-25 dollars will be well spent.
