Spray it down all over with a garden hose. Take a wash cloth, run warm-to-hot water through it from the kitchen sink until its soaked through, squirt a generous bit of dishwashing liquid onto it, go back outside (trying not to drip too much soapy water onto the floor), gently rub down the whole bike, starting at the top and the front and working down and back (painted surfaces first, then engine chrome, wheels last), spray down again with the garden hose, gently wipe dry with a bath towel (don't let the wife see you).
