I am getting close to needing front and rear \\;rubber at approx 17,000 miles. I am considering going with Michelin instead on Dunlops. Has anyone ran both tires and have an honest opinion of which they liked better. (What I mean is not saying "They're the greatest!" because you've spend your hard-earned $$ on them.) Wondering what kinda tread life can I get from a Michelin? \\; I am not interested in Metzelers. \\; Thanks in advance.
Well, I had Metzler's installed today, a tad more'n 4,000 miles after installin' new Michelins. \\; Why? 'Cuz the rear Mich had 'bout 1/32's more ta the wear bar. \\; Yeah - that's right - 4k TOTAL on the tire. \\; We'll see if the Metz's do any better. \\;Got 7500 outta the 'Lops. \\;

Man, I hope the Michelin's do better than that. \\; I've already bought a set and they get put on next Thursday.
Yeah - me, too! I've got an email in to Michelin regarding it, and the dealer is holding the tire for now. The bulk of the tire was used on a 2-up, 3300 mile trip - but still, it should have done a LOT better'n that - it's a touring tire......

Yep, Tex, I think we were both in the Rapid City area at the same time. \\;\\\\\\; Killed me that I didn't have my bike next year I will and wife even agrees. \\;\\\\\\; Probably the best trip we've ever taken.

Holy crap, that's terrible! That's sport bike rubber mileage...
What were you running for pressure?
I put 11,000 on the stock dunlop and currently have 11,000 on a Metz 880, looks to have another 1-2K left in it.
