Well it's time to replace the ol rear tire. \\; I have an 07 Ultra. \\; I am looking for recommendations on what brand and type is the best... \\; My brother-in-law tells me Avon or Metz are the best... \\; I am looking for other's opions...
Stock Dunlops are just fine for me. HD's been putting them on their scoots for a long time and they have always served me well. No need to change for me !!!
Try something different each time til you find the tire you like for your riding style. Not everyone does hiway, rides in the rain and lives in the same part of the country. I personally run Metzlers...i ride long trips every year that include hot/cold, hiway/back road and wet and dry.................find what is right for you.

Just replaced my rear two weeks ago. \\; Stayed with the stock Dunlop. \\; May try something else next time when I'll need to replace both. \\; Didn't want to run unmatched tires.
I'm sticking with HD Dunlops on mine, but I have several friends that run the Elite 3's with good results. My only sugestion would be to run the same brand and tread design front and rear.
I have been running the Michelin Commanders now for several month and several thousand miles.
They are a much better tire than the Dunlops, and equal to, if not slightly better than the Metzlers, but with the Michilens though, you don't have to worry about where they are made, or replacing the rear in 5000 miles.
