Started making a loud tapping sound by the time I pulled into work this morning. \\; Sounded like something in the top end. \\; Left work this afternoon HOPING I'd make it to the dealer, but tapping got louder.  \\; Bike ran okay for about three miles then power dropped off suddenly I could tell it was running on only one cylinder. \\; Had it towed to the dealer so we'll see what they find, but sure seemed to me like an adjustable pushrod coming out of adjustment. \\; Hope that's all it was. \\; Put in new lifters last Winter when I installed the 26G's, and I double checked the locknuts on the pushrods. \\; Dang it!  \\;[:@]
Sorry to hear about that man. \\; Hopefully its something quick and easy to fix, and you'll be back on the road soon. \\; Please keep us posted.
Yeah, if it's the pushrod, it's going to be my own fault, but I know I tightened the locknuts properly. \\; Guess that would be the best problem to have. \\; On the other hand . . . . .  \\; Oh well, another one of life's lessons.

What oil you running? As you know I made the same change and am very intrested in what the out come is!!! \\; \\; Jer
My money is on an adjustable pushrod loosening up. Had it happen on my 89 after doing a top end.
I agree I forgot to mention when I went to Fla. last winter I had to adjust my push rods again as one in the front cyl. the exhaust loosened up and started rapping...I just went over them one afternoon and readjusted them all for my own peace of mind...
