My 2005 Vulcan 2000 had a 200mm rear tire. Handling sucked.
Granted, for an 850+ lb bike it was nimble (due more to its low center of gravity), but I can't see putting a fatter tire on a true touring bike.
150mm is all you really need on the rear of a touring bike. Anything bigger...someone is overcompensating for something.

I was at the dealer this morning and he let me look at an 09 1200cc sportster he had out back and it had a 180 rear tire and and a chopped tour pac No lowers. The color was yellow with a red stripe, oh it was water cooled \\; msrp 19,000

I saw an 09 model at my dealer Saturday. \\;\\\\\\; It was delivered by mistake with 4 2008 models. unfortunetely it was a Sportster and no changes.

No mistake. The '09 Sportsters have been showing up on showroom floors across the US for the past week or so.

No way you will see a 180 on an Ultra, FLHRC, FLHR, FLHT, FLHTC. It would not make any sense from a technical point of view.

You might see a 170 on a Streetglide or they may bring back the Road King Custom and go with the 170.

goldwings come with a 180 on the rear and they qualify as a true touring bike.

If you are not riding 2-up is there really that much difference between a 140 stock tire and a 180 on a SG? \\;
