I would hope the 180 would be a little less prone to lock up under heavy breaking, just due to a little more meat on the pavement. Of course, this comes AFTER ABS becomes available. My VTX had a 180 and later a 200 on the back, I don't think it really impacted handling that much. I believe the Goldwing, Stratoliner, and Victory Vision are are at 170-180 on the back end, I would not say any of them are slow handling.
I have no insight and all of this is just speculation\\; however I could possibly see them adding a 180 on the Street Glide. \\; If they went with it on the entire line, I doubt they'd end up on the RKC. \\; The classic series of softail such as the Softail Deluxe and Heritage Softail Classic still run with normal sized rear tires. \\; I agree with this approach, as a fat tire on a classic/retro styled bike would look very wierd IMHO. \\;
The FLHTCU already has a 180 tire and has had since 04. Reps are notorious for spreading untrue rumors on purpose to keep from telling people they cant tell them. But you never know. I heard for example in 04 a CVO FATBOY would be out in 05 and so it was.Hit the website on 22 July and we will find out for sure.
What the hell are you talking about Mack. Since 04, the entire FLHT line, including the SE, \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\;has been running the MU series rear tire which is equivalent to a 140.
The Screaming Eagle Road King has a 170. This is what MACK \\;\\\\\\;was trying to say...

The MU85B16 is NOT a 140m.m. tire! \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; The MU measures over 145m.m. wide, 140 around 139m.m. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
