Default Hose Crimp Tool

I know I can just use Stainlees hose clamps. But I want to stay with the factory clamps if I can find the specific crimp tool I want.

Harley has one that just has the 2 jaws closing. The one I'm look for has a piece that rises as the jaws close to flatten the tip.

I've attached a drawing.

No big deal just thought I'd ask before putting the Stainless inside my gas tank.

You can buy the hose clamp tool from Harley. Check with the parts or service dept for the part number. I would just go with the stainless if it were me. The price that you are going to pay for that tool will buy a lot of clamps for your bike. I like the idea of being able to take it apart when I want to and not having to replace the clamp with a new one.

Good luck!

The above link is the kind of pliers that Volvo uses for clamping the oetiker type clamps.

If you don't like that link goole has plenty

One of the secrets to making the clamp close up right is to never reuse a clamp, always put a new oetiker clamp on, and it will tighten up correctly.
