Hey Johan96, that college tuition is paying off. \\;\\\\\\; The boys sent me tickets, and we're all meeting in Indy for the MOTO GP races in Sept. \\;\\\\\\; Middle son is riding Duc1098. \\;\\\\\\; What goes around...[8D]
Some would say that the Standard is one of the best values in the Harley line.
The standard has been a very good bike for me.
I needed the better lighting and taller suspension for the crap roads and varmints I encounter every day.
Just a sweet sounding exhaust and the open road for this simple guy.
You can't go wrong either way.

RENT THEM BOTH they ride and handle a bit different... But for GOD SAKE dont ride a ROAD GLIDE even thought they handle so much better and the ride (wow - we wont go there)
Find a dealer that has both bikes. Take yer time. Sit on both bikes. Look at the seat, windshields, rear crash bars and everything. Now sit on both of them.
Now look at the price and see what you want to spend yer money on.
I found a tour pack for mine and made it quick release and addes cruise control myself. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...6/P4280830.jpg
I just bought my EG Standard (w/ cruise control) today. \\; It's a great bike. \\; You save about $1.5K - 2k. It also isn't lowered. \\; I sometimes ride two up, so I don't want a lowered bike. \\; I couldn't see financing a $900.00 stereo. \\; The stock pipes sound nice. \\; I don't see myself changing them. \\; The mirrors on the SG are too close into the bike and don't have very good rear vision. \\; So for less money, I get better mirrors and a bike at stock height. \\; Yoiu also get better lean angles with the Standard because it isn't lowered. \\; And the seat is MUCH better for long trips. \\; Guess I might be biased.
