Price was an object for me, so I went with the EGS. I installed a stereo, biketronics, and have everything I need for much less than SG. But I agree with several others, ride both and see if the extra $ is worth the SG.
Opinions, opinions....Both are good! EGS doesn't have any chrome on the engine ( primary, cam cover, trans covers (2),tappet covers, upper &\\; lower valve covers. No radio, minus gauges etc...you weigh the options, and the SG comes out on top! Plus cool styling, lowered, led light on rear fender etc....EGS, you'll probably add the chrome, radio etc...and come up with the same price. My best friend did the same...upgraded and wishes he had bought the SG...my 2 cents.
Good luck!
Many many thanks for the good information. Hey, with the spririt of the recent apparent trade of a Heritage and RKC I saw on the Softail forum, anyone want to trade for my 07 Fat Boy? (103 HP, 113 LBS TQ).
Thanks again, Brent.
Of the 2 bikes mentioned I would have to say go with the SG. But as a couple of others pointed out the best bang for the $$$$ is the Electra Glide Classic and make the tourpack detachable. I was going to get my 4th EGC when the dealer offered me an Ultra Classic for only $800.00 more so I couldn't pass that deal up.
