I bought a Ram Mount for my Tom Tom one at the ROT rally and used it on the way home. I have used it several times since.
Make sure you get the ram mount witch bolts to the clutch side (longer replacemnt bolts) and not the u-clamp style. I just carry a zip lock and a rubber band for those rainy days.

I like the Garmin the best, and the Magellen plain sucks IMO.

I used my tom tom 1 xl in a ram mount with a clam shell cover that has a clear plastic cover to go from Maine to the HD 105TH. It worked ok bu it was hard to see the screen in the sun and almost impossible to hear.
Does anyone know if the tom tom rider or any other unit can be plugged into the aux jack on the stereo unit?

I don't know about the Tom Tom.

The Garmin Zumo 550 does have an output you
can hook up to the Aux input on your stereo.
Plays MP3's, Bluetooth to your phone.
And it comes with a MC and Auto mounts.
I highly recommend it.
Can find it @ pcnation.com for around
$650.00 give or take a little.

First, thanks for the site. The timing is great since I really would like to be able to take my GPS when the wife and I are just out riding to see where we end up. I own a Garmin Nuvi 700 series and I see the cradle on the site and then a bunch of choices for mounting on the handle bars, brake reservoir etc. What are ya'all recommending? One of you said you used the suction cup. Did that really stay put with no problems? I would be worried the dang thing would fall off.
Also, this one has the SDcard and bluetooth which I would think you could listen to the Garmin, music or books via bluetooth. No wires! Need to check it out for sure.

Default Tom Tom

I have been using my Tom Tom in a magnetic tank bag for over a year. Works great. I do plan to get a Garmin 780 for the features and smaller size, but as for me my Tom Tom has done a great job.

I have the tomtom one xl and it works great, I mount it on the bike using a ram mount, it gives you a great range of movement, I like it also because I can switch it back and forth to my other vehicles, the issue I have is that its hard to read or see in the bright sun light, and the volume does not go high enough to hear clearly over the exhaust but I'm sure the others have this issue also since most lcd's are hard to see in the daylight, a earjack would be nice.
