Synthetic oil

&nbsp\\; When can I out synthetic in my 08 Ultra, and how about the tranny oil? I read something in another post about the tranny working better with a different lube in it?

I like to wait until a new engine has about 2500 miles on it before I run a full synthetic oil in it. I do change the petrol base oil often for the first 2500 though. As far as brand.....you cant go wrong with Mobil-1 V-Twin. As for my self.....I am partial to Red-Line Oil. I use their fully synthetic engine oil in my 03 SE-Deuce, and their Heavy Shockproof in the trans.....the primary gets their MTL lube. Its day and night when it comes to finding neutral, and it also does a good job of keeping things quiet and a good bit cooler!

Any time you want.There are several Co.s making high impact,gear oil that works great.Good Luck.

&nbsp\\; My SE Springer came from the factory with synthetic, but I remember hearing something about engine breaking in better with regular oil. I guess that is a misconception if the MOCO is putting it in SE's right away.
