Just in case you want to do some hot laps on track. \\; One of the local clubs had a big to-do at the local NASCAR short track. \\; During the time between qualifying and the heat races we were invited to have a few laps around the track. \\; Reminiscent of my days racing snowmobiles, I couldn't pass it up. \\; Took the Ultra and the wife out, running the gajebers out of it (until I felt a sharp pain simultaneously in both sides of my lower rib cage). \\; Anyway, during the 20 laps or so, I noticed chucks of rubber on the pavement, noting that the 'groove' was clean. \\; On the way home I noticed a bit of something in the handling. \\; When I checked closer, there was significant build up of rubber that was nearly vulcanized to the original tire face, mostly on the inside/left side of the tires. \\; So after about an hour with a wire brush, I think I have my tires and handling back. \\; Kind of reminds me, too, of the prep time vs run time - hours of work to run minutes.
 \\;
Thought you might want to know in case you get the same opportunity.
Oh sure! \\; Tease us about getting to run on a NASCAR track BUT don't tell us the speeds you hit! \\;
 \\;
Now ya know about the "marbles" . . .
Can't post more than a few words at a time. \\;My laps were about 40% of the late model modifieds. Based on lap times they were averaging about 60 mph around the 1/4 mile with 10 cars on the track. \\;Our unorganized group of about 75 bikes were in the 25 - 30 mph average speed. \\;A couple of times I glanced at the speedo it was around 60 max. If I can get a picture to post I'll add the GPS plot.

 \\;
The record points I think are about 5 seconds apart, giving about a 40 sec lap time. \\; The super-duper late modifieds were running about 15 seconds in qualifying.
