Be careful out there.............................
We had a very dear friend's wife go down Sunday. First let me say, that she is very expierienced, and she will be ok. They had been on an all day ride and the temps were around 90. As they got back into town they stopped and talked about going to dinner. They left shortly with a small group, and was only going about 1/2 mile up the road. The lead bike came up on a traffic light that changed rather quickly, and he had to make that decision that we all have made to either run it, and chance pulling everyone through, or stop hard. Well, he chose to stop and she locked it up. She probably would have been ok, except after going back to the scene we found a small ripple in the pavement after her skid marks that we think caused her rear tire to lose contact with the pavement causing her to come down and get sideways. In any event, she was high sided, and broke 5 ribs, got a bit of rash, and a few cuts.

Bottom line, it was a long day, she was tired, and lost a bit of focus at the end of the day. Guys, and gals, please be careful.
