Saw this in Daytona this weekend.... A Vrod Road Glide. I'm thinking I might want to build one. Brackets are available through Drag Specialties. Fairing is HD parts. Need some thoughts & opinions!!!![IMG][/IMG]
I've seen the Vrod with baggs and I still dont like it. It still looks like a vrod with baggs. What I think they need to do is to put the revolution motor on a road glide, that I would like.
I saw one in Gastonia, NC. It's a pretty cool looking ride. I just didn't care for the 02 V-Rod that I had. I don't see how bags, and a fairing will make me like it anymore. I'd highly recomend a demo ride on one, before you drop the coin. Still a cool looking ride though.
I saw one at a dealership about a year ago. Very nice looking but remember, that tiny fuel tank ain't gonna get you very far. Then there is the cost of all the stuff you need to convert it. With the price of a Vros and another 4,0000 for parts you could have probably bought a SE Ultra.
P.S. I never want to see a revolution motor on a Roadglide[:@].
I'm not trying to start another "war" like we had over the Ultra with a "repaired" title about a month back (I think). However! This kinda project would be good for a wrecked V-Rod. Most of the ones I see stay in the 6-7 grand range. Add another 4 for the kit, and you're riding a pretty cool bike for 10-11 grand. V-Rods aren't a hot seller as it is, and the resale value on them is pretty much the worst out there. I saw an 04 with 170 miles at the last auction I went to. The auctioneer dropped the bid to $10,000, and never got a bid. For whatever reason, they just aren't a good seller. All that being said, why would you want to end up with 15-20K in a cool ride, that you'll never be able to get 10-12K out of after you are done. Start with one that's been smacked, and end up with a lot less invested. Just a thought for any of you serious about building one.
