Changed mine out today and glad i did. \\; Bought the bike in October 2007 so it was built in the period stated in these forums. \\; Don't know how much longer it would have lasted, but there were definite weaknesses in the old canister.
If \\;I were on the road I might pay to have it changed but other wise it's a factory defect............ and that is a warranted item. I have not had a problem yet, \\;but the dealer is going to change mine this week for free.

Why would you pay if you were on the road? It would be under warranty. \\; But the point is do you want to break down on the road to save $32?
3200 miles on a street glide here in MA, towed to the dealer Friday, \\;\\\\\\;sitting in the dealer now they said the part would be there today, and \\;\\\\\\;I got charged 80$ for the tow. \\;\\\\\\; I thought it would all be covered by the warranty, but i guess the tow was on me, thats what you get for 24K

Just wanted to add the dealer Kelly's from Billerica MA, took care of the $80 charge. I still think Harley is lame for not covering it, But thanks again to Kelly's

I had mine break on me last week, i have an 08 street glide that i received in september of 07. \\; The wife and I just started out for a long bike ride when it let go, \\; i was about 3 miles from home and was able to make it back home, clutching the heck out of the bike. \\; The local harley shop picked the bike up and had part replaced in 1 day free of charge(factory 2 year warranty). \\;
