This is a 2008 model touring problem with early build dates in 2007. \\; No 2007 and earlier model bikes are affected. \\; 2008 build dates are not affected.

My UC crapped out last saturday about a mile from home. Got back to the house ok with some back firing and surging. Gave my dealer a call in Rogers, AR. and they are coming to pick it up Thursday. Should be fixed this Friday. Service manager said they have seen their fair share of'um. Mine is 1 month old with 2000 miles on it. Why don't the dealers just put one in before they sell the damn things. I feel for anyone that gets stranded on the road. Btw, I am a AAA member and they will have bikes towed or reimburse. FYI

Got a call from my shop yesterday, I had ordered the part about 10 days ago and its in and ready for pickup. Everytime I start my 08 Ultra for a ride I wonder if I'm going to make it back home. Likes others have said my shop insists they have had no problems (yet), but mine was a 9/07 build, so I'm sure I've got the faulty shell. \\;
