I have had my Electra glide for about 8 months and the rear chrone wheel is pitting all over. Has anyone else had this experience with the chrome HD wheels?
Does Harley stand behind these products?
I just want some info before I battle with the dealer.
Thaks for your help
I'd high tail it to the dealer and give them a chance to replace it. I can't see how they wouldn't, especially only 8 months old.
I have been told that the stock HD brake pads are responsible for the pitting on the wheels. I was advised to change over to the Lyndall brake pads. They keep the spokes cleraner and my whitewalls too
I had the same problem with my Sportie a few years back and the dealer told me it was just a fluke.
The bike was out of warranty or they would have replaced the wheel. As it turned out, it probably lowered the resale value by a few hundred dollars when I sold the bike.
The dealer should take care of it. I have had a couple HD parts with problem chrome. I have never had a problem. They stand behind their chrome well. For the $ they should!
