Hi All,
This forum seems to have the answer for everything HArley related so
I'm sure somebody here can help me.... What should an extended warranty (5 years) for a screamin Eagle Electra glide cost? Also where would a good place to buy it be. All of the dealers around here (north Jersey) are crazy with there prices.
It is just a matter of some paper work so I don't want to get hammered with the price.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
hehehe - I thought your name was Warren AND you lived in Warren, NJ - Anyway - I keep hearing how wonderful and fair Legends HD on 46 in Ledgewood is? Did you give them a try? Did you find this to not be the case?
I guess if you are going to keep your bike stock, the piece of mind and the resell valve, it would be worth it.
But remember, you have until the day, your 2 yr factory warranty expires, to get the extended warranty. No need to rush
I don't know if all dealerships are the same, but I was about to buy a 5 year warranty and I learned that it starts when you buy it. When you buy your bike you get the standard 2 year and when you buy the 5 year right then and there it starts that day so you really get 3 extra years. Therefore I didn't buy it. I was told that you can buy a 5 year as long as your bike is under the standard 2 year. So wait until you've had your bike 18 - 20 months and go buy the 5 year, so you can get 7 years. But when I looked at the price of repairs, I figured I would just fix the problem when it happens and come out cheaper.
I bought my bike at Williams -I guess like anywhere else you will hear pro's and con's - Some do not have nice things to say but for me Williams has good service and seems to be getting better all the time - I recently had some amazing work done there. - Love the people but they sure ain't cheap - Guess they figure you get what ya pay for
if you wait for the 2 year to almost expire it will cost you a few more dollars then if it ran concurrent with the stock 2 year. but on the other hand HD pro rates it so bad that if you sell your bike within the next year you will get alot less money back then you put in, its all a scam but a starter is alot more IMO
got the 7 yr to lower my interest rate which now I find out is BS. lessons learned
Enjoy your ride and never look back at would have could have should have, hindsight is 20/20
