ok 5th time posting a charm? \\; errr I hope it goes through \\; lol

What is the real deal on this 1 cylinder off for the 09's? \\; I understand it is to reduce heat, but this is a 2 cylinder engine.
The Harley site is all jacked up again, but I don't remember seeing a whole lot of info on it. \\; Google is not doing much yet. \\; Just hoping to read more info on the shut down system.

Does it operate electrically killing rear spark and fuel? \\; But how reliable is that system? \\; Does it operate on heat/temperature? \\; or RPM? \\; I mean, what if there is a situation your at idle and you need full power immediately? \\; Is there an over-ride feature? \\; I assume Harley tested the tar of of that system before delivering to the market? \\; What does it do the

he front cylinder with the extra force there and dead rotating mass in the back cylinder? \\; Will the 09 engine need to be rebuilt with much lower miles then the 08's and previous? \\; Gas millage rating are the same so I guess absolutly nothing there.
Doesn't stop fuel feed to that cylinder. So you sit and smell of gas. Not sure how effective it is from a cooling perspective. On the '09's it is kicked in by twisting throttle forward.
i just bought a 2008 screaming eagle 110 about 400 miles it has that system if the rear cyld gets over 285 degs the computer kills spark to the rear cyld only at idle (in traffic) when you twist the throttle to take off the rear cyld comes back in hopefully it will help save our engines by the way my bike is a fxdse2 .i love it so far!!!!!!!!!!!

My 08 has it. \\; Roll the throtle forward and hold and it will turn off the back cylinder. The curise icon flashes when turned on. \\;IMO, it is a waste. \\; I ride 7 days a week, over 100 degres, never used it once.

Your bike must not have a SERT? I don't think it works with a race tuner.
