I will have my 08 Heritage Classic payed off next month, and will be purchasing 09 street glide.
Has anybody seen one yet or got any links or photos of one, I have seen 08 and absolutly love it.
Thanks for any response.
I saw one. They look great, 180 Tire and \\; wider rear fender looks real nice especially without that grab rail, it looks real clean. The bags a re a bit bigger too. The re-routed exhaust will sure help out with the heat under the sac. I have an 06 SG..If I could afford it and my wife wouldn't beat me with a bat, I would get one in a heartbeat..but, The Road glide will be my next one..I hate gettin the wind wobbles on the highway at 80+ mph..they aren't that bad, but none would be better. Good luck and enjoy your new bike.
i saw one then i bought the 08 next to it,who cares about the new exhaust first thing to go. they told me bags are a few cubic inches bigger,180 is nice. but the this thing has about 40 more pounds of weight to it.
Just my opinion, but I would save the money and work a deal on an '08.
Here's why:
You can alleviate some of the heat from exhaust by going with true duals. If still not to your liking, H-D has some not-so-bad-looking polycarbonate shields you can install between your legs and the seat.
The 180 tire is cool looking, but not worth the price increase.
The changes to the frame will not make much difference in the ride. You will notice a nicer ride than with your Heritage, in my opinion. A lot "lighter" feeling up front.
The size difference in the bags is not that much. If you tour, you're going to put another bag on the seat or get a detachable tour pak anyway. Who needs the extra weight when you're scooting around town?
On the 08 and 09 you get the 6 gal tank, Brembo brakes, and cable-less throttle.
If you're hell-bent on spending the additional cash for an 09, take the difference you pay for the 08 and spend it on upgraded exhaust or tips and the detachable sissy bar with seat back and luggage rack.
I think you'll be very happy with the 08.
Ride safe!
No way a Heritage is going to rider better than a Touring bike. The bags are the same size but the load rating has increased. Don't listen to the dumb @ss salesmen at the stealers. \\;
