Default Front grease fitting

Trying to figure out how to grease the steering head on my Ultra Classic? Do I need to remove the front fairing to get at the zerk fitting or buy some sort of special adapter for my grease gun?

Remove the grease fitting and replace it with a 90 degree fitting.

Ah've got the front fairin' off so often with one project or another that ah jest do it then, but yeah - slap on one w/a 90 deg angle.

Turn the front fork all the way to the right and you will see the fitting.&nbsp\\; Remove it and replace it with a 90 degree fitting that will make it much easier to grease the neck.&nbsp\\; it takes a good half or more of the grease tube the first time.&nbsp\\; The 90 degree fitting is a standard 1/4" x 28 thread. any auto store should have it.&nbsp\\; I have done this on my 06 ultra and now on my 08 ultra it's the only way to go

It takes a 10mm wrench to get the factory installed zerk out though.

I wasted my time yesterday posting a reply to this message, it showed up on this thread - yesterday but today
it's gone. -&nbsp\\; what the?????
One last time - NAPA Auto Parts 700-2020 Right Angle Coupler. HD Special Purpose Grease 99857-97.
May take alot of pumps to fill steering head cavity before grease oozes out.
Lets see how long this post lasts. I thought they had this forum fixed. Whats the point of posting
if an informational post is gone after 12 hours or I guess its probably just me.....again....overreacting....
