Default Engine Oil Temp

1st off....I know most of you have installed / moved your oil temp sending unit to the pan.&nbsp\\; For those of you who have it mounted in the 'by design' location....what are your eng. oil temps?&nbsp\\; Even on these Texas afternoons, Mine RARELY gets off the bottom.&nbsp\\; That normal?
&nbsp\\;
Thanks in advance...

If you readed the paper work that came with the HD oil temp gauge it will tell you at it won't read anything til it hits 180* thats the time the bypass closes with that said I live in Vegas and I have mine in the Pan mine does not go over 180* til about 1 hour of riding than it runs about 200 to 220*

From the HD web site for the temp gauge

NOTE: When installed in combination with an oil cooler, gauge will not read accurate temperature until the vehicle has reached operating temperature and the thermostat has opened.

I don't have a oil cooler yet dose that mean I don't have a thermostat to open, and the dipstick readout&nbsp\\;still runs in the 230's

My trikes oil temp gauge is installed according to the factory. The temp normally runs about 120 -140 degrees F. When it starts to get hot, it passes 140 and moves to 180 degrees F. About 5 different techs(5 different states)&nbsp\\;have told me to add 50 degrees F to the indicated oil temp&nbsp\\;for a rough estimate. I have only seen once that it moved above 180 degrees F. I was in one of those 2 feet per 10 minute traffic jams.

06 Ultra with the sensor installed as per factory.. ambient temp here been in the 90's.. my guage readings run 220-230 in stop and go (run full synthetic oil, cooler, and parade fan)..&nbsp\\; have only had the fan kick on a couple times.. in stop and go beach traffic. Heat management doesn't kick in till 300 or better.. haven't had that happen yet

Wally's oil gauge here on an '05 Ultra - 230F normal operating temp.&nbsp\\; Rarely ever higher than that.
