Injector issues...please read.....
This was good reading.
I pushed and pushed my wife to let me get a 2005 and I'm sure glad we did.
You ain't chitten. I sold my 99 EG and bought an 05 because of the pending EPA bullchit. After reading about the problems with the 06s I'm damn glad I did. [sm=signs007.gif]
I like to hear about everybodys mods. and have learned from them. I'm in the process of getting 115-120 HP and torgue from a 95 with out splitting the cases by doing things a little differently. Glad to hear I'm not alone with the closed loop set up. How about the Alpha-n type fuel control system and a variable throttle body?
BOTTOM LINE; It's a totally different injector used in '06. This is from the horses mouth. I felt, at the time, they were reluctant to make that statement but I was pressing them against the wall.
Apparently it was an intentional modification to coincide with the EPA restrictions.
Just thought I'd share part of that conversation.

After re-reading the post I see how that rational would be applicable with the situation I described.
Makes sense now!
I just helped my brother get is 1st Harley 06 SG
The bike was deliverd to my house yesterday (friday 3/17)
I seen the bike as it was removed from the box at the dealer, it had a build date sticker
on the rear of the left bag that said 2/15/06
Anyway once it was deliverd here yesterday the 1st thing I did was check the injectors,
it does have the 25 degree injectors with a 2/15/06 build date

My brother works from sun-up until sun-down so I had to give it a test ride for him..
This bike runs flawless! no spits or any of that jive!
Now my 05 Custom ran like chit! this was with a Stage 1 from the dealer.
It would spit, stall, cough.....
They rechecked the download said it was fine....yeah right!
And yes I went and bought a Power Comander to correct it! Runs fine now...
BTW my injectors look nothing like his.
IMO the stage 1 download from the dealer is still a bit on the lean side,
so his left the dealer stock.....for now.
Anyway his 06 SG runs very nice as of now, and he has no idea how lucky he is!
Good luck to all who need it!!

I just returned from the dealer without my bike, they installed the new injectors but they said they can't find the new download. They have to wait til they reopen on Tuesday to call Technical support to get the information. At least the injectors are in plus it is raining cats and dogs here so I guess it is ok to wait til Tuesday to have them figure it out.
