I am some what torn here. I have a 07 ultra and I have really not come up with a customizing theme yet. I really like the nostalgic look, but not sure if it would go on my scoot.
Any one have any pics or ideas without changing paint or any major components. I am just looking for add on stuff.
All my other bikes were black and chrome and it was easy. Not sure if much can be done with an ultra without spending a ton of $$$$$$.
Chrome goes with everything, there are some reall nice engine covers that allow you to chorme out the whole enging and then you can work your way up from there. Looks really nice.
If you like the old style look, then I would change what would give it that look. An example, make the tour pak detachable. That way you can give it a different look (aka SG) but have the convienence of storage when traveling. Pick a theme like chrome or black. I prefer black and will powdercoat the lowers and upper front forks, engine guard, air cleaner cover, horn cover, and the tank console. Look for ways to make yours different by adding parts not common on other Ultras. There is lots of websites and mags that show great looking baggers. Just my 2 cents....
How about having your parts powder coated to match the color of your bike. Everyone is doing black. Don't get me wrong, black is good, but if you're looking for something different color match all your big chrome parts leaving a few pieces of chrome here and there.
Well being a hot rodder the old school is flat black and really not a lot of chrome.. I have an 06 glide classic that i recently removed the wrap around bag guards and went to the front only guard and chromed the dash with gauge rings and radio chrome and speaker chrome also. I have added a hog tunes rear setup and i have chrome grilles on that too but i really want a quick detachable kit and a short backrest for the wife and save the tour-pak for long trips. Im thinking custom paint too but i washed it last night and it sure looks good today ..

I started with taking stuff off of my standard back in 03 when I got it, did the low windshield, fairing mounted mirrors, took off the front spots.....now Harley calls it a street glide..... Musta been a good theme :-)
