Default Grips Again

Got an '08 Road King and gonna do the grips myself. I am confident with the left stock grip removal but what will I find when I start taking out screws on the controls. Do I remove all four screws or just the two for the switch housing? What's under there? Anything I can hurt?
Thanks, Bernie

Just 2 screws, one on top and one on bottom. Pry the switch housing open gently. There's really nothing to damage if you take your time.

One note: I had to spray a little WD40 into the Kury throttle grip as it didn't rotate as easily as the stock one.

+1 but be very careful going back together, it is very easy to pinch a wire and you will have light, t/sor horn problem. Its easy just pay attention. If you have the dimple in the bar, thats another place to pinch wires if you move the perch at all.

Make sure you place a small wedge 1/8" under the brake lever.

Easy install, take you time and follow the directions. Do the left side first so you can line up the right due to the notched throttle gear.

Do the throttle side first cuz that is gonna be where it is gonna be. Then do the left to match.

Roger that! After you do the right side, the left side will seem like a walk in the park. Not that the throttle grip is all that difficult; just takes a little time. Be sure to read all the instructions before starting so you have a good idea of what's what.

Have fun, ride safe, and keep smiling!

Bernie, The next time you are going to buy some chrome or accessory for you RK you should instead buy a manual. Got mine for $58.00 and it's the best bang for the buck you can get for you bike. It does explain in detail how to change the grips. And yes, you can cause some problems when you disassmble the throttle housing. Sorry if I sound preachy.

Make sure you loosed the throttle and throttle return cables all the way before you try to do the right side replacement....it's dang near impossible if you don't. Get the manual.
