Default Replacing 08 Ultra Grips

I want to replace the stock grips on my 2008 Ultra with ISO grips. Everyone says that replacing the right grip is a piece of cake and takes a couple of minutes. Perhaps but I cannot separate the switch housing enough to allow the stock grip to slide off. Same thing on the left side, the switch housing will not separate enough. I'm reluctant to pry them apart too agressively.

Any suggestions?

Loosen the 2 bolts that clamp to the bar and remove the 2 housing screws, should give you clearance

i also have an 08 ultra and switched to the iso grips a while back. it really is easy. don't be afraid to loosen all the bolts holding the assembly together. when it comes to the throttle by wire...be careful with the brake switch. if you use too much muscle re-assembling, you can break the switch. just look for it and you wont' have any issues.

Place a plastic wire tie between the brake handle and area were it pivots at the clamp. that will prevent the switch from getting broke by mistake.
