Default Drivers Backrest Suggestions

Seeking drivers backrest suggestions? Are they needed on UC's and if so what model? Thanks for the response!

I don't know if they are needed. I think it's personal preference. I like being able to lean against something on long rides. I have the adjustable model on my bike and I hardly ever adjust it. I like having the option to move it if I need to.

My backrest is one of the best things I have done on my Road Glide. It has eliminated any back aches on long rides. I have the adjustable model and really like its function.

+1 on the HD adjustable. One of the best upgrades I've made. Love the thing.

It's a matter of personal preference. I've ridden 50K+ in the past three years with many 600+ mile days (including several Iron Butt rides) without a backrest and have no complaints whatsoever about back or shoulder strain. At 60 years of age (can't believe I'm that age, since my brain tells me I'm 25), I credit my good fortune to being reasonably fit and having both good posture and good fit (handlebars/seat).

Try riding the bike for a while and see how you feel. If you have strain/fatigue and a backrest would help, buy it.

I use an adjustable Mustang backrest. I find it nice to be able to adjust it for different positions on a long riding day.

How hard is it to get on and off with one installed?
