Michelin Tires
Try Metzelers(German ), have them on my ride right now and they are great. Have over 8,000 miles on them and still have good tread left. Run them at 38 front and 40 rear.
It was discussed at length on the old forum, and several techs recommended higher pressures! Michelin techs won't recommend anything other than "what the factory recommends". To say anything else would be putting their a$$ in a sling.
A respected tech suggested I run 40 frt. and 42-44 rear, two up. I keep the pressure at these settings solo also!
Excellent wear showing and I'm extremely satisfied with the smoothness/ride/handling!
They should be on all scoots.
BIGTIME DIFFERENCE FROM STOCK LOPS.
Besides not following those road snakes, highway cruising feels like your on four tires, not two.
Much improved stability and traction.
Michelins forever - frenchy or not. 40/40 solo (homey don't do 2-up).

I also concur with you about the Metzlers. I am currently running a set of Metzler Marathon ME880's on my SE-Deuce, and I like them very much. I get much better feel of the road, they dont follow tar snakes or fine cracks, and they are outstanding in the wet. I have the SE-95" mill in my Deuce putting out a c-hair under 100hp/100tq, and it will launch off the line like a top fuel dragster....and thats without any complaints from the Metzler.
The very next money I spend on my 08 Streetglide will be on a set of Metzler ME880 Marathons!
Reguardless of country of origen, or where the largest % of profits are going, I buy a MOTORCYCLE tire acording to how it feels after its mounted, balanced, and I put the wheel back on the bike and then only after 100 miles or so can I actually make a decision as to what tire I like best. For a car....I love Michelin Pilot Sports.....on my 4X4 Ford Bronco, I like the BF Goodrich AT's, but on a motorcycle if I could use only one brand of tire it would be Metzler. As for the Michelin motorcycle tires.....well they are just too inconsistent, and haven't shown me that they are actually dedicated to the needs of the motorcycling community at all.
I know Dunlop has on the other hand been dedicated to the R&D of a better and better motorcycle tire for some 35 years now, and their commitment to AMA Superbike racing and supplying the tires for 99% of all the pro as well as privateer's speaks volumes about the Dunlop motorcycle tires, they still do not deliver same performance as the Metzlers.....at least not on any of my bikes, and believe me I have given Dunlop every opportunity to redeem themselves. Back in the early 80's.....the only tires I would run on my bikes were either Dunlop Sport Elite, or Dunlop K181's depending on what type of bike they were going on. Them days are long gone.
We are no longer a manufacturing country. I road with dunlop for years
and now have switched to Michlein, best move I have ever made. The
Tire is a French company made in Spain on 11/07. Let me see you walk
out of a Harley Dealer with something that does not say China on it.
There I am done
Thank You!!
