last week i was comming home after 9 pm on a dark highway, high beems on ,approx 58 mph ,looking for deer (its that kind of hwy) and a black bear runs right out in front of me and i hit it (i think in the rear leg) next thing i know im up over the fairing looking at the head light. there's a gap from there until i was sliding down the road backwards trying to stop myself with my hands and arms. right after impact the lite went out and the engine shut off and i landed on the hwy with the bike (03 flht)sliding away from me all i saw was the sparks and heard the bike crashing down the road (i think it barrel rolled a couple times). i know the big guy was with me its amazing how me and the bike seperatedand all i got was road rash on both arms and hands ,and 5 stiches on the back of my hand. the bike is a mess the ins co don't know if there going to fix it or total it,its a woman adjuster and i just don't know if she knows a whole lot about bikes(i didn't get that impression).i'm just glad that i'm ok and i have another bike that i'll probably be able to ride next week .does any body know how they figure out if it is totaled or not?
I can't answer your question but I'm glad you are alright. I just crashed my ride Thursday afternoon and I don't have another so I am sitting here depressed because it is a georgeous day. I wish I could be riding right now.
